Vision Quilt Travels Down West Coast

Vision Quilt has been busy inviting a wide range of people to share their visions on how to prevent gun violence. Vision Quilt recently exhibited panels at:

• The Violence Prevention Coalition of Greater Los Angeles Annual Conference
• The Prevention Institute’s UNITY Partners meeting in Oakland, CA
• Juneteenth Event sponsored by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, OR

Workshops and exhibitions were held with:

• Incarcerated youth from Alameda County, CA
• Lighthouse Community Charter School in East Oakland, CA

Vision Quilt also marched with 1000 Mothers to Prevent Violence in San Leandro, CA for Mother’s Day.

Lighthouse Charter School students in East Oakland studied gun violence for 3 months in their 7th and 8th grade Humanities and Math classes. Over 700 parents, grandparents, and general public came to the their exhibitions in downtown Oakland.

Vision Quilt was among 200 violence prevention professionals at the Violence Prevention Coalition of Greater Los Angeles.

Vision Quilt received great feedback about our spring 2017 exhibition at The Prevention Institute:
