Lighthouse Middle School is located in East Oakland, California. In 2016, teachers created a dynamic expeditionary learning curriculum entitled, "Creating Visionaries, Storytellers and Community Activists Addressing Gun Violence" which is free to schools across the U.S.. From 2016- 2023,  seventh and eighth grade students  created Vision Quilt panels as part of their explorations.
